Ponderosa Pines

I worked on this tree for the first time last month.  I wanted to ensure good health so I have been feeding it aggressively, as seen by the extensive needle length.

This tree is from my September 2011 collecting trip.  The buds have elongated and the new needles have extended (.5 inches), it's showing sure signs of recovery.

These three trees are currently on display at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, where Virginia Bonsai Society members continue to monitor their health and provide monthly maintenance.

Blooming Azaleas

This morning I snapped a few pics of my azaleas in full bloom.  It's a shame that they fade so quickly, I really enjoy the color.

Here are some fantastic shots of wild Junipers I came across when in Nevada.  These images where taken in the mountains 40 min outside of Las Vegas.  The environment was extremely dry and the root systems went on forever...  You can really learn a great deal from studying these trees.  Enjoy!
